Simple distinguishing method of LNG storage tank
Common LNG vertical flat bottom cylindrical storage tanks include LNG single volume tank and full volume tank. Today, we briefly introduce the classification and simple differentiation methods of small and medium-sized low-temperature storage tanks below 50000 cubic meters. The storage medium is not limited to LNG, but also includes ethylene, liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen and other low-temperature liquids.
1. Single containment tank: hence the name Si Yi, single containment. The main structure is stainless steel for the inner tank, with insulation layer, outer tank (carbon steel) and cofferdam (liquid retaining wall).
2. Full capacity tank: hence the name Siyi, full tolerance. The main structure is inner tank stainless steel, with insulation layer and outer tank (stainless steel or reinforced concrete pouring). This kind of tank has high safety and small floor area.
To sum up, in general, small and medium-sized low-temperature storage tanks are basically single volume tanks, and a few of them also adopt the form of full volume tanks; Generally, most large low-temperature storage tanks should be in the form of full capacity tanks. Different storage tank forms are also to meet the different use conditions in various fields. We can decide the type selection according to the actual situation.
