Matters needing attention when loading and unloading LNG storage tanks
LNG storage tank is an ultra-low temperature pressure vessel. It must be used safely according to the regulations. It can not be operated by inexperienced personnel alone. Safety is always the first priority.
1. For tanks with double root valves, the valve close to the tank should be normally open.
2. When unloading, it is suggested that the limit filling capacity of the storage tank should not exceed 90% of the effective volume (85% - 95% of the geometric volume given by the manufacturer), and the usage allowance should not be less than 10%.
3. When the pressure of LNG storage tank is high, it is not necessarily that there is a problem with the storage tank. The heat leakage and liquid storage time of the whole system should be considered. Generally, when the pressure exceeds 1.1MPa, it is necessary to discharge the pressure. Long time high pressure of the storage tank will affect the service life of the interlayer vacuum.
4. When a large number of long-term "sweating" or frosting occurs in the storage tank and the pressure keeps rising rapidly, the vacuum failure should be considered, and emergency treatment should be carried out to manually discharge the pressure and transfer the LNG liquid in the tank.
5. It is recommended that the vacuum test should be carried out every other year for the storage tank. If the vacuum degree of the storage tank is less than 1pA when it is hot and less than 0.5pa (0.00375tof) when it is cold, it is qualified.
6. The LNG liquid in the tank should be discharged when it is out of service for a long time.
7. Storage tanks are pressure vessel equipment. According to the requirements of "supervision regulations on safety technology of pressure vessels" promulgated and implemented by the people's Republic of China, the installation, maintenance and transformation of pressure vessels need to be informed by the relevant qualified units to the local quality inspection department, and the installation, maintenance and transformation can only be carried out after obtaining permission.
LNG tanks must be used in strict accordance with the requirements, can not be blindly operated, causing unnecessary losses.
